CAPA’s 72 Hour Film Challenge Registration

CAPA and Grumpy Seal Productions present the second CAPA’s Film Challenge!

$20 per team!

Please note the following:

Guidelines and rules for the film challenge will be disclosed at the kickoff meeting on Thursday, March 27 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Denny’s (16970 W. Yuma Rd. Goodyear).
Each team will have 72 hours to write, shoot, edit, and submit their film.

The top 10 films will be showcased at Harkins Estrella Falls on Monday, April 14, 2025, followed by an awards ceremony.

Kindly ensure that all films are suitable for a family audience.

Open to all ages!

Registration is non-refundable.

Films not adhering to our family-friendly guidelines upon submission will be disqualified. Please note that no refunds will be issued for disqualified films.

Want to see your short film on the big screen?
Open to all ages! Open to all states! No need to be local! No experience necessary!

What to expect? 

  • Register your team by March 26
  • Attend the kickoff on March 27 either in person or via Zoom
  • Specific guidelines (line of dialogue, prop, and theme) will be provided during the kickoff or through email at 7:00 pm (AZ time)
  • Your team has 72 hours to write, film, and edit a 5-minute short film
  • Submit it by 7:00 pm (AZ time) on Sunday, March 30
  • Films will be viewed and rated by our panel of judges
  • The top 10 films will be screened at Harkins Estrella Falls with an award ceremony on April 14, 2025
