Dive into the behind-the-scenes world of theater in this hands-on introductory course. Students will learn the essentials of production work including how to read and follow script cues, the basics of costume coordination, organizing and managing props, and the fundamentals of set design and construction. The class culminates in a practical internship on one of our live shows, offering real-world experience and the chance to be part of a fully staged production.

Internship dates*:
Fusion Tech Week and shows: November 17-22 (two hours per day, 5 hrs for show days)
Troupers A & B Showcase: Saturday, November 1 (all day, times TBD)
Dramateers Tech Week and shows: December 8-13 (two hours per day, 5 hrs for show days)
Headliners Tech Week and shows: December 15-20 (two hours per day, 5 hrs for show days)
* Note for Parents: Internship hours completed as part of this course will be recorded as volunteer service, and students will receive a letter documenting their participation and hours for school transcript or community service requirements.

Objective: Students will gain foundational knowledge and hands-on experience in backstage theater elements—designing, building, and managing the visual and functional components of a stage production.
