Class Description

In this class, we will delve into the art of performance, transcending across various mediums, including theater, film, TV, and even commercials. Our focus will be on crafting compelling characters and mastering the ability to authentically embody them while breathing life into the words of the writer.

Throughout the course, we will explore the intricacies of script analysis, character dissection, and the art of making impactful artistic choices. We will also unravel the subtle nuances that differentiate stage acting from acting for the screen. The terminology used on set, the importance of headshots and resumes, and even the concept of “sides” will be demystified.

You’ll get to familiarize yourself with the actor’s toolkit and gain insight into the entire process of securing acting roles, including the crucial aspect of “slating.” Whether you’re a passionate actor or someone simply intrigued by the world of acting, if you’ve ever wondered about these aspects, this class is tailor-made for you!

Supplies required: binder, pen, pencil, highlighter, water bottle, possibly acting books (teacher will specify titles- under $20)
